How SMS Consent Is Collected
Users enter their phone number during Miles sign-up or login. Before receiving a verification code, users are shown a separate SMS consent disclosure. The user must explicitly agree before a verification message is sent.
Disclosure Text
“I agree to receive SMS verification codes from Miles for account authentication and login. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Example Opt-In Workflow
The checkbox in the sign-up screen is visibly unchecked, separate from the phone number field, and must be selected before Miles sends a verification code.

SMS consent is not bundled with marketing consent. Miles only sends verification codes requested by the user.
